I rarely set out to to paint a particular location because my memories of places emerge naturally in the process of painting. Usually, the landscape that emerges is an amalgamation, showing traces of many places. These paintings, however, are very definitely just one place. My memories of Pembrokeshire are saturated with light. Every time my friend, Nicki, shares pictures of the ocean around her home, I try to come up with reasons to go back. Obviously, I need to go there to paint!
